3 Goddess Tips For Mercury Retrograde

You've heard the chatter surrounding Mercury Retrograde but, what exactly is it?


The name Mercury "Retrograde" is actually quite deceptive because the planet isn't reversing its orbit. From our viewpoint on Earth, it appears that the planet is moving backward; however, it's actually an illusion.


" Because Mercury is the planet situated closest to the Sun, its orbit is much shorter than Earth’s. About three or four times a year, Mercury speeds past Earth, and that is when we experience a Mercury retrograde period. If you were in a car and another car passed you, you could tell it was going faster than you. The planet Mercury is associated with communication, information, electronics, travel, and clear thinking. It's a well-known fact that when this particular planet goes into retrograde there's a noticeable shift in all of the above.


The good news is, this doesn't have to be a time of complete destruction.


Utilize this time to slow down, ground, and preserve your energy.


Here are 3 Goddess tips for Mercury Retrograde :


1. Ground yourself with crystal healing.


There's no better time to pull out your crystals than now. Whether you have a personal Yoni Egg practice, adorn your altar or utilize them for feng shui, this is the perfect time to incorporate grounding gems.


Black Obsidian, Red Jasper, Hematite, and Smoky Quartz are a few commonly known grounding stones.


Remember, when choosing crystals to practice or share space with, it's best to trust your intuition...you know what your soul needs.

2. Explore slow, intentional, and grounding movement.


Sensual movement invites you to breathe, check-in with your feelings, and step into the present. During Mercury Retrograde feelings are often heightened. This is the ideal time to check-in with self by utilizing movement to shift and process your emotions. When we don't actively process emotions we store them. Emotions are commonly stored in your hips and/or pelvic floor. Sway, circle, and shake your hips for a nice release.

3. Journal, breathe and journal some more.


Mercury Retrograde is known to shift communication; causing conversations, transactions, and contracts to become unclear. It's highly suggested that you do not make any long-term decisions, sign or commit to anything at this time.


Utilize these three weeks to take note of your desires, thoughts, and opportunities. Spend ten minutes at the rising or end of each day to write down any reflections and/or manifestations. Once Mercury comes out of retrograde you will have detailed notes on what you need to follow-up on, release, and/or commit-to.



Mercury Retrograde does not have to be a time of complete and utter distress.



This can be a great time for reflection, introspection, and self-pleasure.
