Have you ever tried to announce your desires, set healthy boundaries, release a loud vocal orgasm, or communicate during a sexual experience and completely freeze? If this has happened to you; trust me, you‘re not alone.
The Physical And Energetic Connection Between The Throat And The Yoni
The Yoni ( Sanskrit term for vagina ) and the throat are two main outlets for energy to enter and exit the physical body. In a female embryo the vocal cords and ovaries are one organ that later splits into two as the embryo develops. The word “cervix” comes from the Latin word for neck, and both the vagina and the throat are supported by a hammock-like set of diaphragmatic muscles which move in tandem with respiration.
The Yoni and the voice are intimately linked, and to be disconnected from one is to suppress the other.
Based on the study of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system structures, the vagus nerve activates the parasympathetic nervous system and is therefore able to send a sigh of relief or ease throughout the entire nervous system. Recent research shows that this nerve does in fact go to the cervix and uterus. There are many ways to stimulate this vagus nerve, one being diaphramatic breathing. Deep, loud, and expressive breathing also cultivates sexual energy and confidence.
Oftentimes, when you’re fully tapped into your voice, you’re fully tapped into your erotic power. Noticing resistance and/or imbalance around the throat or within the the throat chakra can be a beneficial first step to you increasing orgasmic energy, reclaiming sexual power, and re-centering your pleasure.
Historically, womxn have been taught that their sexual pleasure and desires weren’t important. For many, we still carry this shame, humiliation, trauma, and so much more within our sensual bodies. Take a deep breath. Reconnecting with your voice is a safe and easily accessible way for you to begin to heal and release.
( We explore this diaphragmatic breathing, chanting, and more to support you with vocalization within our virtual on-demand space ~ The Velvet Room and often during our guided sensual movement experiences. Click here for more info ;))
How Does The Throat Chakra Connect To All Of This?
The chakras are the seven ( main ) wheels of energy in the body, starting from the crown of your head and down the body to the base of your spine. Chakras are commonly thought of as energy vortices—spiraling wheels of energy. When they are spinning properly, each chakra allows energy to flow and move freely so that you are moving in harmony and alignment.
The vishuddha or throat chakra acts as the body’s communication hub. This chakra is associated with speaking your truth, expressing yourself, hearing, and being heard.
When the flow of energy is blocked in the throat chakra, we often feel frozen, at a loss for words or a tightness in the throat area. The chakra system runs vertically and is interconnected so, any blockages in one chakra directly affects the rest. The throat chakra is our power center of expression and without it functioning optimally, the ability to express openly and confidently reduces our access to true pleasure.
As you balance the throat chakra your erotic power is magnified, your listening skills are enhanced, and your ability to take up sexual ( creative ) space is elevated.
